No we do not, we rent it. To physically own a server, first an investment is needed, for a server equal the strength of ours, once could easily lay down 20k$, on another note, you would need electricity/internet. For the 1gbit we have right now, I would have to pay a monthly cost of 100 euro alone where I live. Therefor it's pretty much un-beatable price wise. Unless we go with cheap hosting, like *cough* other people do =)

I would also say, renting a linux root server is much cheaper in this case. And it sounds reasonable to have a fee of 100 Euro per month for a midrange stable server.

Is the 100 Euros primarely hosting fees?

Ive ben working as an MCT for a few yaers now and as such i have access to Windows Azure for a grand sum og 100$ a month.. This includes hosting servers and Network traffic.

I would have to look into weather it can host a Linux server but so far i dont think Theres a problem.

If the admins are open for this then i dont mind looking into the options of cutting down the hosting cost a good deal.

The Azure platform is a pay what you use platform.. Meaning you dont buy a server per say on it.

If i scale the installation to use what you have on that machine then it would cost far more than the 100€ you currently pay.

How many virtual machines are needed.
How much bandwith is needed
How many Cores are needed
How much Memory is needed

This wasnt an option of me gettng your Money. This was an option of looking into weather the game could be hosted on azure so that you could save the 100€ and use them on something else.

I know it wasn't, and I am aware of what Azure/amazon etc. is, yet i rather have a physical server of my own to work with. Besides, 100 euros is not that much.
