HC
In Astonia 3, A3res,Ugaris you may choose upon the character creation to make it a Hardcore (HC) character, the true test of the player's skills. This is an irreversible decision, but it is believed that a true player must have at least one such character. In effect, the game treats Hardcore characters like mortal human beings rather than the semi-immortal non-Hardcore characters, accordingly called Softcore (or SC) by Hardcore players. In this mode, a character only lives until the first death, after the fact most players consider a (HC) useless.

But some chose to continue its legacy.... by trying to deneg and never die again.

What if this wasn't possible? What if when you died, it was like real life? When you die you don't comeback.

This would raise the risk, but increase the reward. Substantially!!

I would suggest this for all HC chars...

When you die its permanent, about level 20/or arch of any kind.
When you die, you can use the character if you have a death jewel.

This jewel is only given when you start as a HC, and only works with death shrine. Once jewel has been used. You are no longer safe.

Death is permanent. Once you die a grimreaper appears takes your soul to hell.

For higher levels I would implement a mega hell demon to fight (minimum level 100) if you kill this demon you get your soul back, but still have negs. And a chance to be resurrected, (no pun intended).

To me this sounds like a third mode option rather than adjustment to current hardcore ;)

Someone's been playing Diablo abit too much and forgets that Diablo has a thing called Paragon levels which makes creating a new hardcore character easier if your previous one died?

I've already said: Just remove hardcore and you'll remove all the issues people have - I wouldn't even mind it if we were for the time being, be like New World:

No hardcore
3 saves max (don't forget to adjust LOE shrines with this)
Lvl 120 max (no content after that level anyway)

NO !
no changes to HC, its personal choice of being overpovered risking many negs and items (and also, very probable, of no BR).
New, especially high level areas, should be considered as areas for SC.
Make something valuable at the end so... hmm... lets say a suggestion box... that SC cant reach it (or its rly hard with SC), but non-quest item that is account-bound that every alt on same account can use :)
LOE is for orbrunner SC alts to lvl them fast.
Bloodknight wrote:if you believe in HC remove SC, take away saves and set everyone flags.

alternatively remove the stat bonus, the bonus exp and LOE shrines since they are the contentious issue (well they arent but ---)

(the remainder of this post has been edited away by Freya due to being anything but on topic.)
yeah, remove sc! make it rly challenging! its better, for real players, than underpowering HC!

I didn't mean; max lvl 120 forever, I ment until you actually release new content then you can increase it by 10 levels -> more new content another 10 levels etc

Otherwise I'll just be farming from 100 -> 200 in hellpents :P

Not sure if people entirely understand the level balance issue of higher level quests.

If a quest is designed for sc, that will mean that a hc player will be able to complete it at a much lower level, thus gaining a whole lot more exp, even if keeping within "safe" playing. This will defeat the purpose of hc advantage being in the stats to begin with, as they suddenly become faster levelers... Which is what we are going for.
On the other hand, countering this with the implementation of stricter min level caps will still just mean that hc can run through the quests way too fast. And like a breeze, the whole "challenge" hc is supposed to be is gone. Repeatable quests will just make it even worse.

At what level, do you start to notice the difference between HC/SC
